Hey guys! We're back with another POWERGIRL spotlight! We think you ALL should get to know POWERGIRL Gabriela, aka @spiritu_fit! She's originally from Caracas, Venezuela, but now lives in Berlin, Germany with her husband.

In our Q&A with her, Gabriela told us why being a POWERGIRL means so much to her, and it's so relatable! Right before we announced the contest, Gabriela got hurt by someone really close to her... you guys know how that can literally break you. She said that even though she wasn't feeling her most confident, she applied anyway, and couldn't believe when she became an actual POWERGIRL! It just goes to show that you can't let anything keep you down! 💖 Check out the rest of our Q&A with her below!

💞 OUR Q&A WITH GABRIELA 💞

1️⃣ Give three words to describe yourself!

High energy

Discipline

Dreamer

2️⃣ What's one thing on your bucket list you haven't done? One that you have?

I love thematic parks and I dream about visiting The Magic Kingdom, Universal's Island of Adventure and Six Flags! I know it'd be an awesome experience full of adrenaline and magic.

One thing I am really proud of and have accomplished is to become a POP Pilates instructor. Back in 2014, when I was practicing with Cassey through Youtube, I used to envision myself teaching that "fun and intense Pilates method" and being happy about it.

I started teaching in 2017 a mix of classical Pilates with Cassey's routines and people loved it. Once I moved from Colombia to Germany, I knew I had to start teaching, if not in German, at least in English because you find that English is a well-known language and people tend to know more English than Spanish. So, I had a big challenge ahead of me.

At that moment, I decided to get my POP Pilates certification and, after practicing the choreography, learning dialogs, cues, etc. I felt I had the confidence to teach here in Berlin.

I've been teaching POP Pilates for almost a year in a cooperative environment and it's like, wow, I am doing it. I am already living that dream. It's crazy, and I am thankful for that.

3️⃣ What is your usual workout routine?

What I like to do right after waking up is to take time to read 10 pages of a good book to start my day learning something new in my field. Then, I brush my teeth, drink a glass of water and go to workout.

My main workout routine consists mostly in Yoga, POP Pilates, Pilates, and Barre. The type of class depends on how my body feels. Sometimes I want something intense and I go for some POP Pilates or Barre session, and, sometimes, my body is craving for yummy, calm and long stretches. My morning workout lasts from 30 to 90 minutes. In the evenings I like to take 30 minutes to practice handstands because I want to master them.

I also like to film my workout routine, especially my Yoga practice, because it's amazing to see the progress and to share it with my followers so I can inspire them through my hard work.

4️⃣ What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

The best piece of advice I've received is that being who you are starts by deciding who you want to be and then acting based on that decision. Simple as that. At first, I was unsure that becoming a fitness instructor was the career for me, because of a myriad of reasons.

One day I made the decision to leave those insecurities aside and changed my professional path to fully embody that vision I had. Since then, I've been doing my best to put in the time and effort to polish my skills, to learn and to step out of my comfort zone because I like to walk the talk, and I know I am the only responsible to create the life I want.

5️⃣ What's your fave YOLO meal?

Matcha ice cream, no doubt.

6️⃣ What do you eat in a day?

After my morning workout, I like to drink 32 oz. of celery juice, followed by a protein smoothie. Then I like to eat an omelet with 2 slices of bread or 1 arepa (a Venezuelan dish). Sometimes I substitute the protein shake for warm oats with fruits and honey. For lunch, I love a good portion of pasta and when I don't eat that, I go for breast chicken with rice and salad. For dinner, I love Venezuelan arepas or a good soup with vegetables and chicken (especially the one my husband cooks). Throughout the day I like to drink 3 liters of water to stay hydrated and I also eat a bowl of seasonal fruits.

7️⃣ What's one song you put on every workout playlist? Why?

Call on Me - Starley (Ryan Riback Remix)

I have this song in almost all my playlists, not only because of the rhythm (which is awesome) but also because Starley, the singer, said that she wrote that song when she was at a low point of her life. She wanted to pursue a career in the music industry and, in order to do that, she left her country and went through a lot of hard moments that made her feel helpless. There were moments in which she wanted to give up on her dreams until one night this song just poured out of her and became a way of telling herself that everything was going to be ok, almost like an encouragement. The song became a hit and she earned international recognition. So it is awesome to have this song as a reminder that we always have our struggles but we must not give up. We must be resilient and have faith.

8️⃣ Who's your role model? Why?

Cassey Ho & Andy Frisella. They've been my teachers and role models throughout these years. Cassey's completely changed my vision about fitness and is incredible how she has created a beautiful and very supportive community of popsters around the world. Her legacy is incredible and I am truly honored for having her as a role model when I started this journey.

Andy has inspired me in everything related to business, mindset, and entrepreneurship. He is amazing. I love his raw and honest way to tell things. You should check out his podcast. It's called The MFCEO Project.

9️⃣ What's one secret or hidden talent not many people know about you?

I can "guess" your rising sign without using any online calculator if you just tell me your sun sign and your hour of birth. I know it sounds silly but I used to work with a Venezuelan astrologer and I learned a lot of interesting things.

🔟 How do you feel when you're wearing your POPFLEX?

Empowered, feminine and proud

1️⃣1️⃣ What are SOME POPFLEX items you can't live without?

My Highness Leggings in Cloud,Muse Bra in French Lace.

1️⃣2️⃣ How has being a POWERGIRL changed your life?

When POPFLEX announced the Powergirl contest, I was so excited to participate. Suddenly, I had a personal problem with a person really close to me that broke me inside and made me think that, maybe, being Powergirl was out of reach. After days of reflection, I gathered all my courage and decided to enter the contest anyway because, deep inside, I knew that it was just unfair with me to let this opportunity slide just because of that misunderstanding. And when POPFLEX announced the winners and saw that I was part of the team, I was shocked. It was a clear signal. I understood that just because others tell you hurtful things doesn't mean you have to put your dreams and all the work you've done aside.

One thing is clear to us: Gabriela is beautiful on the outside AND the inside! 💖 To celebrate, we're giving all of you 🎉 25% off Gabriela's fave Highness Legging in Cloud w/ code "GABRIELA"! 🎉 Code expires next Tuesday, 11/5.
