Meet Karen Chen, aka @karebearsk8 from Fremont, CA! We're so inspired by all that she does - competing in international figure skating competitions (like the 2018 Winter Olympics!), starting school at Cornell University AND finding time to rep her POPFLEX whenever she can!

1️⃣ Give three words to describe yourself!

Kind, Motivated, Hardworking

2️⃣ What's one thing on your bucket list you haven't done? One that you have?

I've always wanted to try skating in hockey skates at least one time. I have watched a scary movie (I'm terrified of scary movies).

3️⃣ What is your usual workout routine?

I guess my on ice training regime of 2-3 hours a day, six days a week kind of counts as a workout in a way, but I also go to the gym 2-3 times a week to go through a core circuit and cardio. It depends on how intense my on ice sessions are and how much my current school schedule allows.

4️⃣ What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?

I wouldn't say it's a piece of advice, but my parents always taught me the importance of appreciation, so it's something that I'll forever remember.

5️⃣ What's your fave YOLO meal?

If I'm feeling something savory, dumplings; if having a sweet tooth a solid dark chocolate bar or anything matcha flavored.

6️⃣ What do you eat in a day?

It really depends, but what's consistent every day is my daily latte I make myself every morning. I have to start my day with an almond milk latte. Breakfast is usually more carb heavy, like oatmeal or toast with peanut butter and fruit. Lunch I usually have on the go, so it's more like a banana with a Sargento snack pack or like a Chobani flip yogurt. Dinner is usually some type of salad!

7️⃣ What's one song you put on every workout playlist?

I've been obsessed with Dua Lipa for the longest time, so I would say New Rules because it's the song that I discovered her from when I took a dance class years ago and it just really pumps me up.

8️⃣ Who's your role model?

Cassey Ho! It's amazing how she never "stops;" she's always adapting and improving and innovating, which is truly very inspiring. I also just love how she is unapologetically herself, it's a quality I aspire to learn. I want to be more courageous and not be afraid of judgement.

9️⃣ What's one secret or hidden talent not many people know about you?

I don't really have one, maybe my ability chug hot coffee in the morning?
