Faux Sherpa Cocoon Coat - Black

I saw this and wanted it in black from the first moment! It is pricey, and worth every penny. It's just like wearing a chic, soft blanket. It is already my go-to winter layering piece and I love that I can wear it around the house like a mini robe. I also love wearing it under my black winter puffy coat; it sits like an expensive scarf all piled around my face. So stylish. I have gotten comments that it looks very warm (which it is!).

I have worn this on its own in above 40 degree weather and it has kept me perfectly warm, even on a windy ferry ride. Under 40, I layer it under my tried-and-true black puffy jacket.

I am 4'11" with hourglass figure, athletic build. I ordered XXS/XS and the sizing is nearly perfect. For me personally, my forearms are much more developed than the average woman. The cuffed sleeves on this coat sit much tighter than I expected around my wrists. I am not able to push the sleeves up at all (!!) for washing my hands or doing dishes, which is a bummer. Conversely, when I want to use the thumbholes, they fit like a glove.

Now that I have been wearing this coat everyday for a week in different winter climates, including on a plane and a ferry, I would like to suggest some ideas for a next iteration:
- As other reviewers have mentioned, the pockets are placed too far back to be functional. Their positioning makes it so I find myself getting caught as I go by lever door handles. It does not feel comfortable to put my hands in the pockets, so I don't. This is disappointing, but I was prepared for it having read other reviews. And, like other reviewers, this significant critique is still not enough to keep me from giving this coat five stars because the coat overall is SO AMAZING. It would just feel better if the pockets were in a more ergonomic place!
- I would LOVEEE if this had fold-over mittens, like on the packable puffer!! I have been enjoying wearing this out as my primary winter jacket when it's above 40 degrees, and now I want it to be my everything-winter-coat lol.
- I do love the thumbholes, please keep. :)
- It would look amazing if this had some way to cinch in at the waist when I want to look more sleek. Possibly soft internal or external drawstrings, a belt, or some other solution I have not thought of. This coat looks super stylish under my black puffy jacket, with my black fanny pack belted at the waist (over the puffy jacket) and turned backwards. It just looks like a really nice belted jacket.
- As others have said, it would feel good to have the option to close up more tightly in the front when I want to keep the wind out. The toggle is SO CUTE. I love the faux leather strap and loose blanket vibe... yet also want the option to be snug as a bug in a rug. Is there a way to keep the toggle but be able to close up more tightly? I'm thinking maybe snaps but I love that everything about this coat is so soft and warm; I'm leaning away from the idea of cold metal of snaps...
- Lastly, I saw myself walking by a full-length mirror with this on and thought it would look SO CUTE if it went down to my knees, like a long winter jacket! Would 10x the blanket vibes. The length is honestly perfect as-is, but might be fun if there were a full-length option?? I'm thinking "house robe that you can wear outside"...... Not sure how this would look on, but wanted to throw it out there!

I received this and looked at it thinking hmm this is gonna be similar to other cheaper Sherpa jackets I had owned and my mom agreed. Then I tried it on and was like wow!!! The thumb holes,hood and really everything about it definitely wasn’t like other Sherpa jackets. So comfortable and perfectly fitting I didn’t want to take it off. I told my mom and she rolled her eyes and then she tried it on and was like wow you were right!! This is the most comfortable Sherpa jacket ever😂. And it does seem expensive but definitely worth the price

Omg, my dreams have come true! I LOVE the cocoon style and the sherpa is so soft and warm. The thumb holes are to dye for and the collar and hood are excellent. Every little detail about this, clasp, pockets, bat wing sleeves and a dropped hem in the back is perfect. I NEED them all. And I will finally be warm, and so cute LOL

I am so in love with this coat. I wear it constantly and have gotten many compliments. It is extremely soft and cozy. I'd say the color is slightly warmer than it appears in the photos, which I am actually quite happy about. The arms are actually long enough for me to use the thumbholes, which is not often the case for me. My only complaint is that the pockets are a bit too far back to be useable? It'd almost be better just not to have them. Overall, I adore this coat and am so happy I finally bought it!

I absolutely love this jacket, it is super soft and warm, sleeves are long enough, love the thumbholes.
The only remark that I have is that I wish it was just a few inchec longer. I am usually a size L in Popflex, got the S/M in this because I did not want the fit to be too oversized, and while the overall fit is great it only just covers my butt which will still make me feel cold in winter.
