Athena Backpack - Magic Flash

To start off with, this is the second bag I've gotten from here. The other was a free.99 duffle that I got as a gift item. That duffel is AMAZING and I've used it to travel so many times.
But this backpack? I've got one of those Swiss brand ones, and while it's nice, the zippers always give me concern. This one has some really sturdy buckles and it's a LOT bigger than the pictures. This is probably going to be my travel backpack from now on! Also, the little metal clip for your keys on the inside? Incredible. Genius. And the spot for your shoes on the bottom? Also amazing! But it's really only big enough for like flats or converse.

The bagpack quality is awesome. I particularly chose blue mist for the inside material design that reminds me of night sky. I instantly decided on this color as i am a star gazing enthusiast. Apart from that it has a combo of mesh pockets, zipper pockets and laptop compartment and a carabiner inside. Very useful for a day trip or hiking. Ergonomic design, sits comfortably on your shoulders as it has wide straps. Did my first trip with it recently and hoping to get many years of use from it.

We got the magic flash and all I can say is…. I feel so magical. It’s for my daughter but I may have to get one too. I’ll likely get another color as to not steal her shine, but I love the features of this bag. They undersell all of the pockets and usefulness! I haven’t given my daughter the bag yet but I’ll have to show her how IT COLOR CHANGES! It looks like a plain old navy/black bag in the shade but then BAM MFER it’s like a fairy hit you in the backpack! So cool! And the inside is a GORGEOUS cotton candy swirl blue! Just amazing

I love the color and quality of this backpack! I’ve only been using it ocasionally for about a month. So far I’ve enjoyed the space and all the little pockets and nooks in and on this backpack

The front pockets absolutely need to be improved from the weak magnet closure to a button or something more sturdy.

The Velcro to hold your laptop in place on the inside gets stuck on certain materials. For example, when I put crochet projects in this bag the yarn will get caught on the Velcro and ripping it off frizzes it up.

I also am adjusting to the concept of really just having one huge open compartment. My previous backpack was divided into 3 compartments which made organization easier. While using this backpack feels like I’m putting all my stuff in a big sack and makes reaching things that may be at the bottom harder.

This backpack also needs more padding on the shoulders. The straps dig in a big and can hurt after a while.
I love that it has 4 water bottle pockets-2 on the inside and 2 on the outside.
I also really appreciate the pocket at the bottom and the yoga mat holder. I use that to roll up and keep my jacket when I’m traveling. The bottom pocket is great for sandals or food. However, when you put things in the bottom pocket it does subtract space from the inside of the backpack. I’m fine with that but it may be something to consider.

I’ve been wanting to get this backpack for months, finally ordered and was extremely disappointed when I noticed that the front pocket is clearly damaged and was not sewn on properly. Given this isn’t a cheap product I was surprised by the quality issue. I am still pending a response from customer service but have read online that people are not being offered replacements for defective items. Hoping that will not be the case here given it is a 150 dollar backpack.

I'm a loyal customer of PopFlex and I love everything it represents. The quality is also usually very high. I bought the Athena bag a year ago, and only two months after I started using it it ripped in several places (normal daily college use, I didn't over pack it and literally put the exact same things that Cassey shows in her videos that she puts in the bag, even less). I got in contact with the support team and they graciously refunded my bag. I then bought another two, thinking that surely it was a one-time mistake. I bought one for me because I loved the previous one, and one for my friend. Sure enough, hers started ripping in the same way only a few months after getting the bag, which I felt embarrassed about because I gave it to her as a birthday present. I only started to use my second bag a month ago, to celebrate a new semester at an exciting new university. NOT EVEN A MONTH passed and this time it ripped completely, to the point where the straps are hanging by a few strings. Something is clearly off with the quality of the bag, and I'm just sad I spent money on it as a broke student. I had to throw it out and get a boring bag that's not half as cute as this one ):

Feels really nice quality

I wanted a spacious gym bag that could fit all of my gym stuff, including extra clothes, a towel, a water bottle, a smoothie tumbler, running shoes, lifting straps, ankle straps, etc. This looked like the perfect bag, as it seemed spacious but not overly bulky, and I loved the attention to the functionality while still being cute (so many pockets! And the Magic Flash is fun & gorgeous!). I received the bag just in time for a trip I was taking and decided to use it as a carry on. I noticed taking it out of the packaging that there were white marks on the front of the bag. It was too close to when I'd be leaving to initiate a return, so I decided to use it anyway. During my trip, I noticed another flaw with the backpack: the magic flash coating was starting to rip/crack. I had expected better quality/durability from Popflex products, especially since it was my first time using it. I contacted customer service hoping I'd be able to do an exchange for a faulty product, however, they were only able to offer me a partial refund or store credit :( I love this backpack so much, since it hit all the check marks in what I wanted for a gym bag. Was expecting more in terms of the quality, since I can tell Cassey puts her heart & soul into all the items she makes. Oh well, I'll continue using my backpack since it still serves its purpose, just hope the Magic Flash coating holds up!

I love this backpack. It's very spacious & has lots of pockets. I love the brightness of the inside too. I've received several compliments & I love the way it turns different colors based on the light's reflection.

listen I love this backpack. I work at multiple clinics, so I take it everywhere working 6 days a week. the pockets are chefs kiss, my shoes fit perfectly in the shoe compartment. however, 3 months into using it, one of the straps ripped real bad, so I stitched it back together. now we’re 6 months in and the other strap has started to rip. it makes me big sad because I usually have 0 complaints with purchases from this company. I want to give this 5 stars so bad, but it does need a slightly sturdier fabric to prevent tears at this price point. A+ for thoughtful design tho.

At fist glimpse, this backpack looks very efficient (shoe comp, key ring, outside pockets, and side mesh pockets.) but I have realized that this backpack is not nearly as efficient as it looks. I have had this bag for 5 months because I got it for my birthday, and already it is dirty and broken. The first time I tried to use the drawstring on the side mesh pocket, it broke. The outside pockets also seem efficient, but the magnets are not very strong, and the bag can’t stand up so it always falls sideways and when that happens on the pocket side, all of your things fall out. (I have lost a pair of AirPods and 3 lipglosses because of this) and the pockets are very tight and small and cannot stretch at all. The side mesh pockets are not even close to being able to hold a water bottle. Along with the bags unstructured form, it collapses very easily such as, if I use the key thing (idk what it’s called) it is too heavy for the bag and the back collapses inwards making it harder to get your stuff. Also, the Velcro on the bottom of the bag gets caught on every single carpeted surface and it makes it difficult to pull off. Excuse the Velcro is so strong. My Velcro now has so much carpeting on it, it barley even works. Finally today I just discovered a huge rip in the seam from my bag. Keep in mind I don’t ever misuse my bag. I have been gentle with it using it as intended, and still I found a huge rip in the seam, and when I look closer I am finding more. Cassey I don’t mean this as a mean comment honestly. I have caught from pop flex and been very satisfied before. I am just very disappointed in this bag, and I recommend anyone thinking about purchasing it to reconsider. I don’t understand why ratings are so high, but I believe people submit ratings once they get the bag and not 5 months later when it is completely destroyed. So my personal experience is that it ruins my leggings and my jackets because the Velcro sometimes comes a little loose. Then the sticky part sticks to your wool jacket or your pretty $150 leggings. It would be great if this Velcro was the other , so if it gets undone from overuse then at least the sticky part was further from your cloths and wouldn’t touch it.
Otherwise it’s great.

I got this backpack for college as a dance major. I love how spacious and easy-to-close it is, even when full of dance and academic stuff. The yoga mat straps are super convenient, but the Velcro has snagged almost all of my pants (I think this could be fixed if the Velcro was facing the other way). Also, I have only had the backpack for 4 months, and it is already starting to rip at a few seams. Overall, great backpack, but I wish it was more durable and wouldn’t snag my pants!

I was so excited to receive this bag as a birthday present, though it only seemed to last me 3 months before the stitching began to rip. When I reached out to their customer service team, the best they could offer me was 20% off a future purchase of mine. I don’t think they understand the fact that I will not be purchasing any products again from this company considering their bad quality service and products. While this bag appeared to be very good quality and well thought out at first, it has proven to be a big waste of money. Being that the price of the bag is close to $200 I was expecting it to be of quality, as the bags of its competitors are, but it was safe to say that this was a big waste of money. Instead, I am going to take my money to a company like Lululemon who has good quality items and great customer service who will replace your items if any problems arise with them.

I bought this backpack a few months ago and sadly it's is already falling apart. It is really nice, big and I love all the pocket it has. But sadly it's not that durable.

I have been using this bag for over a year now and the stitching actually ripped just a couple of months after use. When I reached about the damage, I was told there was no way of replacing the bag and was just given a refund of $30. A bit disappointed as this bag was almost $200 and as useful and efficient as it is, it is not made of good quality as I hoped it would be for the price point.
