Ooey Gooey Half Zip Sweater - Black

Great quality sweater! I love that it functions and looks like a hoodie, but without a bulky hood attached behind it. It leans more romantic and is incredibly comfortable. Definitely warms, so not for the summer months.

I'm usually a S (can sometimes fit XS depending on the brand), but I personally don't like a baggy/bulky look so I opted for the XXS/XS and it fits me well--albeit almost big between the arms and torso because of how much fabric there is to create the baggy effect. The overall length fits at the hip when fully extended, and sits at the end of my torso when I tucked the band in. The sleeve ends with the thumb hole are very tight, since it's a XXS/XS, and can somewhat hurt if you like to pull your sleeves up. However, I've managed to stretch them by pulling them further up the arm and keeping it there for a while, so it's become more comfortable. Though the excess fabric does bunch up quite a bit, making it look a bit bulky on the arm. (for reference my forearm is about 24.5cm / 9 1/2in at the widest point).

In terms of the advertised colour and what you get, it's definitely NOT as saturated as the pictures. Which is a disappointment for me and why I took a star off. You can see the comparison in one of my images--the top is the Popflex sweater and the bottom is another black garment which is more of a true black and what I expected based on the advertised pictures not the Popflex website.

Currently considering to cut some of the fabric out between the arm and torso for a more "fitted" look and potentially dying it a darker black. I also haven't washed it yet.

I am pleasantly surprised at how much I love this sweatshirt. It's so soft and comfortable. I wore it to travel recently and was so grateful to have it with me while I was stuck on a delayed flight for hours. I only wish I had ordered one sooner so I could enjoy it more before the summer heat comes in for good.

I was a little skeptical because some of the reviews mentioned the colors running in the wash and the thumb holes being uncomfortable. I've both spot cleaned and washed this sweatshirt in the wash on cold water and line dried and have zero color fading or pilling.

I will say the thumb holes are a little bit uncomfortable and can irritate my skin where the seam is, but it's not enough of a deal breaker for me.

I am 5'4 about 159 lb 36 double d and I got the small medium and it's still oversized but really cozy. I may consider sizing down if I order another color just to see how it looks.

I purchased this top because I wanted the Perfect Plane Pants in Pink Ice and I wanted a matching top. I would have preferred the Ooey Gooey Mockneck Sweatshirt, but it seems to be discontinued, sadly (a bummer, really.), so I went for this which I thought still looked nice. I was more interested in the cropped version, but this one was on sale. Anyways:

Why is it so big? This is the most oversized item I have purchased from Popflex. This is not just oversized, it's just way too big. I'm not a fan of super oversized items so when I do purchase oversized items from Popflex, I size down to XXS / XS. Well, that's what I did here, and I feel like it's still too big for my liking. It's huge, and I can't size down more. Which makes it unflattering and not true to size.

So, because it is unflattering, it's not my favorite. Design wise, I'm also not a fan of the collar, it's a little too much for me, I don't think it looks that good on me. I like the versatility of the collar though, with the buttons, the zip and the fact it goes up really high. The fabric is very soft, stretchy and comfortable, as expected from the Ooey Gooey line, which I love. Quality is great. I will definitely be wearing this because it's just so comfy and I love the color, but I would not re-purchase in other colors. I wonder if I would prefer the half-zip, though.

I do wish the pocket had zips or this top had regular pockets instead, cause I can't trust these kinds of pockets to hold anything, stuff always falls out, but I already expected this when purchasing.

Something else that bothers me a little is that I think the thumbholes are too small. The fabric being thick on the wrists and the thumboles so small, they are uncomfortable to wear. They feel ok when putting them on, but soon enough they become uncomfortable. So I can't really wear the thumboles.

Overall, I still think this is a solid product. Some people like these kinds of pockets (not me, lol) and super oversized stuff. It's well constructed and extremely comfortable, as I said. The design is just not my cup of tea. And I don't like that it's not true to size and way too big. I would still recommend this item though - if it's your style, you'll love it.

i’m super obsessed with my sweatshirt. It’s so soft. The material is so high-quality and the style is perfect because I got a brown. It looks almost like a 70 style and I pair it with a wide leg pants. I love it so much.

I love this sweater! I have worn it so much already. It’s perfect for lounging and for going out. 10/10 -will probably get another one. I’m 5’6, 165, larger chest and I got the small/medium and it fits perfect. Not snug and just the right amount of oversized. Also I’m in the second trimester and it still fits perfect.

Loved it at first but on the first wash it stained all my clothes blue and lost color

I wore this jacket and washed it ONCE and the seem on the pocket is already coming apart!! Very disappointing for how much I paid for this.

I normally run M/L in tops and sweater, and I love a good oversized model.
I've bought cloud hoodies before and figured I should go smaller in this one too, so I ordered a S/M; and it's just too big. It's way bigger than my original cloud hoodie, the design is much more 'boxy' than oversized. I had hoped for an oversized, but somewhat cinched look, to still keep some shape and especially not to lose my waist.

I just found out that there's a cropped version, and maybe that would have worked better, as I loose all sense of shape in this sweater.
I'm wary about buying the cropped version and just as very about going smaller in size (going XXS/XS just seem crazy, with my bodysize), as I in general have a hard time figuring out the sizing in here, despite the vast and thorough photolibrary and the different models and types.

The thumbholes are also VERY tight; I've been trying it out and after a few minutes it feels like the thumbhole is gnawing at the base of my digits, and it feels like bloodflow slows. Even if I kept the hoodie, I probably wouldn't use these, as they are not comfortable at all.

All critique aside, the colour is stunning and rich and the fabric is so soft and lovely, but I have to return it sadly.

100% honest thoughts: I was skeptical as this is a good chunk of money to spend on a zip up.
However this is way cozier and softer than I thought it’d be. The waistband / crop is at a perfect height. The sleeves are roomy and cozy, and really warm. The thing that shocked me the most was how beautiful and durable the zip AND snap closure is! This design seems really well thought out and all the material is thick and durable. The only thing I’m not too wow’d about is the thumb holes, but I usually don’t use these on any hoodie I have anyway, so that’s my personal opinion. I can easily roll them back without notice.
I am a true size L in tops, and I went with a S/M and it fits perfectly, even then very roomy but looks flattering. Honestly, worth the money and I’ll be back to purchase more!

Washed it right after purchase and never wore it. Color changed. Didn't use bleach, just regular powder detergent. So disappointed with the dye process.

I was hoping and praying this sweatshirt would be as amazing as I hyped it up in my head to be. You guys… it is. The material is SO soft and the perfect weight. The sleeves are comfy and extra long. The zipper glides easily and the buttons are easy to fasten and unfasten. I’m so happy. Favorite sweatshirt I own and I’m quite a sweatshirt lover. 10/10 recommend. The investment is worth it!

I took it out of the box as soon as it arrived and I haven’t taken it out since! The material is so incredibly soft and the sleeves are LONG! As a tall woman, I have so many sweaters and sweatshirts that turn into 7/8 sleeve tops, so this was exciting.

There is something that’s so flattering about the collar and the drop of the shoulders. It makes me feel chic and athletic. I know I could put on a pair of jeans and some jewelry, and I’d still look very put together in this.

The only thing I’d change is to add length to the wardrobe. As I mentioned, I’m quite tall. Often times “normal length” tops look a little more cropped on me (and I confirmed I didn’t get the cropped version of this!) which makes me feel uncomfortable due to my belly. It won’t stop me from wearing this sweatshirt, but if popflex ever started offering a longer length option for sweatshirts…

Well. I’d continue to give them all of my discretionary funds!
