Not Squat Proof!

Update: I had to spend $8 to return these shorts, even though the item I received was NOT as described. In my opinion, Popflex needs to either change the description of this product and not market it as “squat proof” or offer free return shipping.

I was so excited to see that Popflex was finally bringing back some shorter length shorts, and bought them on release day before there were any reviews. Unfortunately, these are completely see through! Even before doing the “squat test”, you can easily see the design of my underwear through the shorts. I even sized up (as recommended), so the shorts are a looser fit on me and this is not a case of the shorts being see through because they have been stretched out.

In the past, I have always been satisfied with the popflex shorts/leggings and how squat proof they are! I’ve trusted this brand and have recommended it to many friends and family members over the years. I’m so disappointed to see that these are see through, despite being consistently marketed as squat proof on the website and Instagram.

I’m also not a fan of having to pay for return shipping when the item I received doesn’t match what is described on the website. In the future, I’ll be waiting for other people to review before buying. I hope that this is just a one time issue that will be resolved in future collections!

I’ve only tried the shorts on so far (I haven’t worn them out yet or walked around in them) but they seem like they’ll hold up pretty well

THIS COLOR 😍😍 and the silicone dots on the hem is genius.
these are thin as heck. you can see the lines of my nude seamless no-show underwear and it’s pretty easy to see my hip tattoo through the material. they also have virtually no compression- or support. I have medical issues that cause weird fat distribution on my body and you can see literally every fold or roll or dimple so they’re not very confidence-boosting. I also wish they were longer because my thighs are *thick* and rub together during workouts which can get uncomfortable when sweaty, but I did see the inseam when ordering them so I knew what I was getting. that being said, a longer middle length (say, 4.5 or 5 inches instead of 6, etc) would be much appreciated

all in all, a disappointment. these were not at all like Cassey marketed them to be. I will be keeping them because I don’t want to spend money to return them and the color is cute. I’ll just wear them at home to lounge around or sleep in.

another observation - it seems lately that all the new collections are mostly just the same pieces made in different colors. I like having options but recycling everything with only one or 2 new pieces every 4+ months doesn’t really seem like a designer mindset. I’d rather have re-releases of the same collections in more colors (better yet, drop all the colors at once so we don’t have to pay for shipping multiple times) or wait longer between collections to give time to create new silhouettes so I don’t just have a bunch of the same shorts/leggings/bras.

See through :(

I recently purchased a bunch of items from this collection and was most excited for the tangerine...I look great in tangerine.

Sadly the fabric is see through. I can see my tattoos and underwear. I even put a magnet under them to show the obvious contrast. Not squat proof... Not even regular butt proof for that matter.
There's also a complete lack of compression. I'm including an extremely unflattering tummy pudge photo for proof. I do like the length and am hoping to return/exchange for the black ones-thus the 2* instead of 1* rating.

not squat proof, at all

I hate to say it but this matching set is going to be the last I purchase from popflex. I’ve been burned too many times before and I’m beyond disappointed in this purchase. I’m not returning it because that whole process is a mess and a half. You can see not only my underwear in this but the pattern, my belly button, and it gives me camel toe. Not worth the $100 I spent for the matching set.

Do NOT recommend

This is the last time I'm giving Popflex Active a chance. With every purchase, it gets worse and worse. Sure, cute colours. Fun colours. What about form and function? These shorts are horrendously terrible. Extremely thin. Extremely see-through. The sizing is SO off? How is that possible when the Hourglass Biker shorts, in the same size, were fine? What bodies were these products benchmarked against? I'm an international buyer and it took more than 30 days for me to receive my product so the online return option is not available to me, so I've emailed the brand to see I want to return the shorts (and bra but that's another review) for a refund because this is just absolutely ridiculous. Not all of us are comfortable going underwear-free in activewear. And the material used for these shorts definitely wouldn't make me feel comfortable even thinking about going commando. And no, these are NOT squat-proof. I am so unhappy with the amount of money I've wasted on this brand.
